Stress.

I'm wondering what you guys do to try and get rid of stress. I've been stressing out a lot lately (for several reasons). Starting to eat less and am really tired throughout the day. Running in the cold helps a lot, so does listening to music. Any other ideas?

  1. I struggled with this for a while too. My main outlets are music and exercise too.

    But I found that stress is something that can be overcome mentally. I got to the point where I realized that stressing out about stuff really doesn't help anything and only makes stuff worse. A good sense of humour and too much time on the internet help too. If you start taking life as a joke then pretty soon you can more or less control your stress levels through willpower.

  2. You must choose what you have really to do and what you've not really to do. Are you stressed? Maybe you are doin' too many things, or not too many, but things too big for you. Think about yours interests, works, hobbies, and relationships; you're an human being.

  3. Depends the type of stress I'm suffering from.

    Stress due to being overwhelmed usually has me sitting down watching good-feel movies or tv shows (sitcoms).

    If I'm frustrated or angered, exercise till it hurts usually helps.

    And any other times, I usually sleep a lot. That part isn't so healthy really... hell my first method probably is borderline-bad...

  4. Try and be as active as you can. Go for a walk, workout, anything like that. The worst thing you can do is stay at home and sit around.

  11. I go on hard runs when I get worked up about something. I just run very fast until I get exhausted. Then, when I see how well I ran, I get happy!

  14. Exercise, music, good sleep (maybe a bit of ganja before), chilling with people you are comfortable with, its mostly about what you like to do. I hope you find a way to become less stressed after all these good ideas that people posted!

  19. For me stress relief has been sorta Zen. It's not like I've been taking active steps to reduce stress, it's more like I've just chosen to not be stressed by things that would normally twist me up. And this isn't really a conscious thing either -- "Don't remember to breathe, just breathe" sorta thing.

    I realize this isn't helpful at all. Lol. Sorry.

  25. music is always good to relax a bit. also I find that I do some of my best thinking in a nice hot shower.

  27. When I'm stressed I find the following things help:

    Exercise, listening to music, taking showers, watching something I like (movie or tv show), drawing, writing, painting. It depends on how I'm stressed out, as actually doing things can sometimes make it worse. Just take it easy and follow what your body tells you.

  36. If you're feeling stressed out, change up your daily routine. Do stuff you don't normally do.
